The most important thing we can do now is hear within ourselves the sounds of the earth crying.
- Thich Nhat Hahn
You are invited to a co-created experience of embodied awakening, heART and subtle activism! This will be a unique opportunity to infuse our Devotion to the Ocean with the energy of the Living Mandala Process. This monthly series is dedicated to re-membering, resonating with, and restoring the Pacific Ocean to her luminous True Nature as we also align with our inner and outer ocean!
Effortlessly manifest your own radiant mandala** through a visionary process combining meditation, movement, ritual, sacred sound & simple drawing techniques.
Prior drawing experience is not necessary, only OPEN HEARTedness! (see photos below & testimonials page)
In the intimacy of a small group (limited to 13), you will receive and allow your own unique luminous vision to manifest on black paper with white and colored pencils. The Living Mandala Process invites you to experience and express the Circle of Light inherent in all life. Your heart’s beauty will be reflected back to you on paper and through the living mandala of our human circle, the group.
This will be a regular (monthly) offering; you can register for one session at a time.

"To redeem something means to restore it to its natural condition " ~ Adyashanti
"This isn't a time in history to buffer ourselves from our feelings. It's time to be raw, awake, and revolutionary to the core."
~ Marianne Williamson
If you’re reading this, like me, when you think about the health of the Pacific Ocean, you have been feeling unending grief, helplessness, outrage, and despair since March 11, 2011 when the earthquake hit Japan and the nuclear reactors began leaking radioactivity into the water.
Most of the time these feelings have been residing in the depth of the unconscious of our inner oceans because they feel unbearable. Yet the LOVE - not only of the ocean, but of life itself - alternately whispers, cries, dances, and howls to be remembered and restored to its natural state of wellness. This mind has no idea how to scientifically or mechanically stop the leakage or reverse the devastation. And, yet ...
LOVE says it’s possible to restore the Pacific Ocean to her original health... if we join our hearts and bodies together with energetic intention, commitment, intelligence and devotional attention. Energy + Intention = Healing. As we remember, resonate with and align with our own individual luminous true Nature, we also align with our inner and outer ocean. We will also engage sound healing, prayer, mantras, mudras, qigong, spontaneous song and poetry, movement and the mandala process.
Join us in the SF Bay Area November 15 and November 22.
Some months of this series will be co-facilitated by other teachers and sound healers. Again, all proceeds from this series will benefit Treesisters, an organization that celebrates and empowers the Feminine while helping shift Climate Change!
(These monthly gatherings are only the beginning. We envision site-specific events at the ocean - globally and locally - as well as events via the web. We want and need your collaborative input. Your participation is welcome on any level you'd like to offer - including visioning, networking, and organizing. If you would like to co-create either local or global events, please let us know!)
** Mandala means “sacred circle” in Sanskrit. A mandala is a vehicle for Self-remembrance and healing across cultures. Even if you have never drawn before, you will discover a wealth of images within, and the means to give them form through simple, yet powerful techniques. These “sacred circles” offer an opportunity to rest in the Heart and celebrate the presence of our communal resonance. See Julia's other course descriptions for more information, photos and testimonials.
This collaboration is inspired by the revolutionary healing work of Masaru Emoto; see more about his work here.
And by Joanna Macy, who encourages us to combine our deepest heart’s intention with the "two wings of wisdom and compassion action" to hear and respond to the cries of the Pacific Ocean. Read more about Joanna's work here and here.
We are also joining our intentions with these two fabulous organizations:
